OKMULGEE-The Miss Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Pageant was held Friday, June 4th resulting in the newly crowned 2010-2011 Miss and Junior Miss.

The recurring theme, "Beauty of the Muscogee Nation", was present in the night as the participants graced the stage.  This year's pageant consisted of two divisions, with five contestants running Miss and four contestants competing for Junior Miss.

The title of Miss Muscogee (Creek) Nation 2010-2011 was achieved by Tusa Jane Beaver.  She is a member of the Bird Clan as well as North Fork Baptist.  She is the daughter of B. Molline Jackson & Richie Beaver and granddaughter of Maybeline Davis & Bill Davis Sr. and Hattie & Raymond Beaver.

The winner of the Junior Miss Division was Ashleigh Johnson.  A member of the Bird Clan and Salt Creek United Methodist Church, Ashleigh is the daughter of Denise Fixico and granddaughter of Georgetta and Paula Fixico, Lizzie Bruner and the late California & Winey Fixico.

Attendees of the event included Principal Chief, A.D. Ellis; Second Chief, Alfred Berryhill and other representatives of the Muscogee Nation.  There were also many visiting royalty from other Indian Nations such as Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole, and Cherokee Nation were also present.  Honorable mention goes out to the 1st runner up of the Miss Division, Mallory Lorene Buckley and the Junior Miss Division, Janna Paige Rolland.  A special thank you goes to all the participants in this year's competition.  The royalty will be making appearances throughout the festival, June 24th-27th.
