Who does WIC serve?
The Muscogee (Creek) Nation WIC Program has 12 locations servicing Broken Arrow, Coweta, Eufaula, Glenpool, Okemah, Okmulgee, Sapulpa, Seminole, Shawnee, Stroud, Tulsa, and Wetumka. All WIC clinics are closed for lunch from 12:00-1:00. All clinics are closed the last business day of each month for end of month processing and staff training.
What is WIC?
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) has an extraordinary record of preventing children’s health problems and improving their health, growth and development. Studies show that WIC children enter school ready to learn and show better cognitive performance.
How does WIC work?
WIC participants receive checks at each visit to purchase specific foods each month which are designed to supplement their diets. Different food packages are provided for participants in different categories. WIC food is high in one or more of the following nutrients: Protein, Calcium, Iron, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C.
Who can apply?
Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, women up to 6 months after birth, infants, children up to their 5th birthday.
How do you apply?
Visit one of the 12 WIC clinics and bring
identification, proof of income, and proof of residency.
Other services offered:
Breastfeeding education and nutrition education such as healthcare referrals for low and moderate income women and children at risk of developing nutrition related health problems.
